چکیده

Both Geographic Information Systems and Information Retrieval have been very active research fields in the last decades. Lately, a new research field called Geographic Information Retrieval has appeared from the intersection of these two fields. The main goal of this field is to define index structures and techniques to efficiently store and retrieve documents using both the text and the geographic references contained within the text. We present in this paper a new index structure that combines an inverted index, a spatial index, and an ontology-based structure. This structure improves the query capabilities of other proposals. In addition, we describe the architecture of a system for geographic information retrieval that uses this new index structure. This architecture defines a workflow for the extraction of the geographic references in the document.

Defining a Workflow Process for Textual and Geographic Indexing of Documents

Many public organizations are working on the construction of spatial data infrastructures (SDI) that will enable them to share their geographic information. However, not only geographic data are managed in these SDIs, and, in general, in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), but also many textual documents must be stored and retrieved (such as urban planning permissions and administrative files...

Automatic Workflow Generation and Modification by Enterprise Ontologies and Documents

This article presents a novel method and development paradigm that proposes a general template for an enterprise information structure and allows for the automatic generation and modification of enterprise workflows. This dynamically integrated workflow development approach utilises a conceptual ontology of domain processes and tasks, enterprise charts, and enterprise entities. It also suggests...

An Efficient Cross Ontology-based Similarity Measure for Bio-document Retrieval System

In Biomedical research, retrieving documents that match an interesting query is a task performed quite frequently. Typically, the set of obtained results is extensive containing many non-interesting documents and consists in a flat list, i.e., not organized or indexed in any way. In this paper, we have presented an efficient bio-medical document retrieval system with the proposed cross-ontology...

Comparison of Bibliographic Databases in Retrieving Information on Telemedicine

Background & Aims: Some of the main questions which can be of importance for those researchers who intend to perform a systematic review in a field of science are: ‘What databases should I use for my review?’; ‘Do all these databases have the same value?’; and ‘Which sourcesretrieved the highest of relevant references?’. The main aim of this work was the identification of the best database for ...
